The Xalaro Festival is the starting point of a wide programme of family activities during the summer with various sporting proposals (Family yoga, hypopressive exercises, basketball tournaments, beach korfball, beach volleyball, and various walking and running races), various festivals (Jazz Nights, Sardana and Havaneres series and FestiSurf Costa Brava), Festa Majors (Dalmau residential area, Platja d'Aro, Castell d'Aro and S’Agaró), and entertainment on the promenade (workshops, shows and crafts market). Activities are also offered centred the around the Mercè Rodoreda library (stories, creative and family workshops and competitions), as well as fairs and markets (FiraFan collector’s fair and the Medieval market in Castell d'Aro), discovery activities (dramatized tours, natural guided tours or family tours), but you can also enjoy the Children’s Mini Club and babyclub on Platja Gran, children's entertainment shows, or take a trip on the Vall d'Aro miniature train.
